Our Purpose

The purpose of the Annapolis Classical Tutorial Service (ACTS) is to assist families in the pursuit of classical and Christian education by providing small group tutoring in the following areas: English grammar and composition, Latin, logic, history, and natural science. Each of these subjects will be taught according to classical methods and from a Christian worldview so those students learn to:

  1. reason in a manner that is both theologically and intellectually sound,
  2. recognize beauty in the divine, natural and human realms, and
  3. relish what is good (Phil. 4:8)

By encouraging students to love God with the mind (as well as heart, soul, and strength), we believe that God will be glorified and the Church strengthened.

ACTS is not an umbrella organization. Parents will be expected to conduct regular home schooling duties including: keeping necessary records for your family's umbrella organization or County Board of Education, and issuing grades and determining when your child has attained mastery of a subject.

ACTS is a ministry of Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Annapolis.

Peanut - free zone reminder

Between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. Monday and Thursday of every week that ACTS meets, ACTS will be a "peanut free zone".  If there is a post-ACTS enrichment time then the peanut free zone must be extended to include that time as well.  This means that no snacks or treats that are made with peanuts, contain peanut oil or are made in factories that might process peanuts or peanut oil can be brought into the church building.  Please read the labels to be sure that you comply with this.
